Why Fair Trade And Organic Coffee Is Better For You, The Grower And The Environment. Prelude

Fair trade and organic coffee is grown by small coffee farmers that grow organic, shade grown coffee mostly through fair trade coffee cooperatives that help the coffee growers receive fair payment for their efforts. These efforts include growing a better coffee cherry, coffee beans, while paying attention to the environment.

Fair Trade Organic Coffee Helps Humanity and Social Jusitce
Fair Trade coffee beans are organically grown, producing the highest quality taste and aroma. To become Fair Trade certified, an importer must meet stringent international criteriat. Fair Trade for coffee farmers means education, healthcare, environmental stewardship, and community development.

When you purchase and drink fair trade and organic coffee you get a coffee that has a distinct taste and aroma. Like fine wine or a great brewski you can immediate taste the difference. This distinct difference sometimes needs to become appreciated due to the fact the coffee you have been drinking is mostly mass produced and marketed coffee.

But Wait! Just because it says its fair trade or organic coffee doesnt make it good. That coffee, to be sure of proper processing, has to be roasted correctly. It has to be packaged correctly. Lastly, it has to brewed correctly.

Enter the mini or micro coffee roasters. They are a fair trade and organic coffee elite here in the USA. They care to roast and brew the best coffee and they care for the coffee growers and the communities, both locally and the coffee growers communities. You can meet both here www.cooperativecoffee.com .

Another way of assurring yourself that you are drinking the best freshest fair trade and organic coffee is to buy whole bean coffee and grind it at home, all coffee becomes stale in less than two weeks. You grind only what you need for the day or if you are lazy like me for a couple of days. Some coffee lovers will buy green coffee beans and roast the beans, themselves for an even more satisfying organic coffee experience.

I'll be making fair trade and organic coffee a regular addition here at the Zoo. We'll explore the art of buying, roasting, brewing great organic coffee. We will also discover together how fair trade and organic coffee is not only good for you, but is good for the planet and its humanity benefits for all concern.

Won't you join me from some great coffee and conversation?
