Alek Lindus was born in Paris, educated in Beirut, Brussels, Athens, London and Sarajevo. A long distance runner in her youth competing in desert races in Egypt; it is somewhat ironic that she loves short line poetry. This may explain her enigmatic style of writing and being.
The natural surrealism of east European visual art is in her blood
inheritance from a Bosnian family, blending with middle eastern and European influences; alek has lived in Greece since 1976 and on the island of Samos for over twenty years.
She lived in the mountain village of Manolates working with the locals in the vineyards and olive groves. Later she worked with her horses carrying out olives, grapes and wood from the steep terraces; as there were no roads at that time only foot paths.
The photography represents her love and involvement in the land and Greece,
not from sticking a camera in front of her nose.
Warm Regards
